Heat hits Metro Detroit, but Thunderstorms and Rain are on the Horizon

Most of Southeast Michigan experienced temperatures in the lower 80s on Thursday afternoon due to the summerlike conditions.

But because of a lake breeze, the Thumb was forced to endure temperatures in the seventies.

The temperature will stay warm through the night. After the game, Detroit Pistons supporters will take advantage of the nice weather downtown.

Mild temperatures in the mid-60s and lower 70s will greet those departing Little Caesars Arena or any other location in Metro Detroit in the late evening.

Overnight, temperatures will drop to about 45 degrees in the Thumb, lower 50s from I-69 to I-696, and mid-50s south of I-696, with more clouds.

It may be hard for folks to see an astronomical show on Friday early. The eastern sky will show the crescent moon, Venus, and Saturn. The smiley face will appear as a result of the formation. Predawn views will be the greatest.

The majority of the sky will be overcast, with afternoon thunderstorms and rain showers. Heavy rain could fall for a short time during thunderstorms.

Though cooler than the typical high of 63 degrees, temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-70s.

It’s going to be gloomy on Friday night, and there may be some rain showers. The temperature will drop to the mid- to upper-forties at night.

It might sprinkle a little early on Saturday. If not, clouds will dissipate and sunlight will replace them.

Most of the day will see temperatures in the 50s, with early morning highs of about 60 degrees. The temperature will drop to about 40 degrees.

It will be largely sunny on Sunday. Anticipate lows in the mid-40s and highs in the lower to mid-60s.
