SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Four adults were arrested over the weekend after a domestic dispute escalated into shots being fired in Sumter County, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

Deputies responded to a home on Edgehill Road Saturday morning following reports of a domestic disturbance. Roughly an hour later, authorities were called back to the same residence after receiving new information that the dispute had resumed and become violent.
While en route, deputies were informed that gunshots had been fired. Upon arrival, investigators determined that the individuals involved had allegedly vandalized and fired shots into each other’s unoccupied vehicles during the confrontation.
No Injuries Reported
The sheriff’s office confirmed that no injuries occurred, and no surrounding homes, vehicles, or bystanders were hit by gunfire. Deputies secured the scene and detained all involved parties without further incident.

The four suspects were identified as:
- Jaheim Rakel Kassim Abrams, 23, of Sumter
- Willie Abrams Jr., 43, of Sumter

All four were transported to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and later released on bond, officials confirmed.
Ongoing Investigation
The SCSO continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the dispute and gunfire, but authorities have confirmed that the incident appears to have been domestic-related and contained to the involved individuals.
The sheriff’s office reminds residents that disputes involving weapons can escalate rapidly and encourages community members to seek help or mediation before violence occurs.
