According to an arrest document, a father was shot and murdered Monday night outside a Fort Worth apartment complex during a fight with his 7-year-old kid. The alleged shooter has been taken into custody and faces murder charges.
Just before 9:45 p.m. on April 21, Fort Worth police were called to a shooting incident at the Buena Vista Apartments. Officers discovered a man with several gunshot wounds lying in the parking lot. After being brought to a neighboring hospital, he passed away from his wounds.
Bolden had been fighting with a man in the apartment parking lot earlier in the evening, according to a witness statement that was included of the affidavit. Following the dispute, Bolden took the witness to a local store with his 7-year-old son.
The suspect was then observed leaving the apartment building in a car.
The guy allegedly came out of a dark alley and started shooting as Bolden stepped out of the car when the group got back. At the time of the incident, Bolden’s son was standing by him.
According to reports, the suspect was seen fleeing the area on surveillance tape.
Earl Bolden was recognized as the victim.
Later on, his identity was revealed to be Javier Jones, 25. Jones has been charged with murder after being taken into custody by the police.
It’s still unknown what caused Bolden and Jones to argue or whether they knew one another before the shooting.
