Former NFL Player Accused by Two Women of Sexual Assault during His College Days; Filed Lawsuit Seeking Damages

Honk NewsMarcellus Wiley, a former NFL Pro Bowler, is facing new allegations of raping two women while attending Columbia University in the 1990s.

The two women filed lawsuits last week, alleging that Wiley assaulted them in separate occasions in his dorm room in 1994, when he was a top two-way player for the Columbia Lions, playing both running back and defense end.

Wiley, 50, had previously faced assault charges from other female pupils.

He was first publicly accused of rape in a November 2023 lawsuit by a woman who claimed she was a virgin when the player attacked her at the Ivy League university in 1994. In a lengthy YouTube video, he dismissed the charges as “BS”.

According to one of the new accusers, the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Wiley, who eventually went on to play ten seasons in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers before transitioning to broadcasting, barely removed her clothes prior to the assault.

According to the lawsuit, the lady, who now lives in Texas and goes under the name Jane Doe, revealed how Wiley harassed her for sex after she accepted his invitation to his dorm room on October 27, 1994.

She continuously said “no,” with Wiley telling her that she was “too uptight and needed to relax,” according to court documents. Wiley then turned up his audio, went closer, and harassed her, she claimed.

“Wiley then swung [her] legs on the bed, lunged towards her and overpowered [her],” holding her down as he whispered to her “to relax, enjoy it, stop crying, and stop fighting the feeling,” she claimed in the filing.

The victim, a Barnard student, later reported the event to a Columbia University administration, who advised her not to file a criminal complaint, saying that if she did, Jane Doe “would be known as the girl who destroyed a black man’s NFL dream.”

The second anonymous new complainant, who now lives in California, alleged in legal papers that she was assaulted about a month later, also in Wiley’s dorm room.

The victims are demanding unspecified damages.
