Former Georgia Educator who Previously Confessed Sleeping with 16-year-old Arrested Again by US Marshals

An individual with a previous conviction for sexual misconduct has been apprehended by Muscogee County deputies and U.S. Marshals.

Jeffrey Crowder, a wanted fugitive, was apprehended on Tuesday for several felony bench warrants, as reported by Sheriff Greg Countryman. A 35-year-old individual is currently facing severe charges, which include two counts of sexual assault by a teacher and one first-degree count of cruelty to children.

Crowder has prior experience teaching and coaching at Statesboro High School in Bulloch County.

In addition to his previous conviction in 2015, where he pleaded guilty to having sex with a 16-year-old student, these charges have been brought against him. Crowder received a sentence of 15 months in a probation detention center, along with a $3,000 fine and the requirement to register as a sex offender, according to WTOC.

He is currently being held in the Muscogee County Jail, awaiting extradition to Bulloch County.
