Honk News (Miami, FL) – A woman in Florida has been arrested for allegedly threatening to set fire to a daycare center amid a prolonged child custody battle, as reported by local authorities.
In August 2024, Hany Matozes More, 38, faced arrest by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on several serious charges, including child abuse, child neglect, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. She later lost custody of her 2-month-old daughter. The individual has now secured release on bond, and her case in Broward County remains open, according to court documents.
At the beginning of this month, deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office took More into custody.
A KinderCare in Boynton Beach, a city of moderate size within the Miami metropolitan region, was reportedly the focus of the threats.
The defendant’s most recent arrest on Feb. 2 was a result of a growing number of incidents, as detailed in an arrest report.
Officials have indicated that the caregiver of More’s child informed them that the biological mother attempted to visit the daycare on New Year’s Eve 2024, but was denied entry.
On January 23, it was reported that More tried to remove her daughter from the daycare center but was once more prevented from doing so, as stated by the sheriff’s office.
Authorities report that a hole was found in the fence at the daycare on January 29. A tracking device was found concealed within a stuffed animal that More reportedly provided to the child.
On January 30, More reportedly appeared at the KinderCare once more.
This time, though, she was reportedly carrying a butane torch and a fire extinguisher as she approached the foster parent. A security guard reportedly stepped in and once again sent the defendant away — but later supposedly discovered two backpacks filled with gasoline in the vicinity. It has been reported that More’s Cuban identification card was supposedly found in one of the bags.

An audio message was reported to have been received by the foster parent, sent through the WhatsApp account of a relative of More’s. Authorities claim that the message featured the defendant’s own voice, which included a threat to set the daycare on fire if her daughter was not returned to her.
A suspect is presently held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail facing a charge of intimidation, specifically for making electronic threats to kill, inflict bodily harm, or carry out a mass shooting or act of terrorism.
According to court documents, authorities allege that the defendant’s arrest last year was connected to a vandalism spree that involved her infant.
Authorities claim that More visited another person’s residence after 11:30 p.m. and used a blunt object, potentially her high heels, to hit the victim’s door. The accused reportedly shattered the victim’s motorcycle mirror and caused harm to the hood of his vehicle.
Officials report that the child is unharmed.
