Florida Mother Went to Sleep after Leaving 3-year-old Alone in Pool; Arrested after Neighbor Rescued Kid and Knocked Her Door for like 20 mins

A mother in Flagler County has been charged with felony child neglect after her unsupervised 3-year-old child was discovered playing in a kiddie pool.

A neighbor found a toddler alone in a small pool on Sunday evening. After trying to get someone’s attention for 20 minutes, they called the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from Flagler County arrived at the scene, and it was at that moment when the child’s mother, a 25-year-old named Kassidy Wren, emerged from the residence. The law enforcement agency described her as being in a state as if she had just woken up. They also noted that she did not seem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

“Additionally, upon further investigation, it was discovered that the child had been exposed to several other hazards on the property while unsupervised,” stated the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies provided limited details regarding the nature of these additional risks.

Wren has been apprehended and taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. According to online jail records, she has been released.

The Department of Children and Families was informed and the toddler was handed over to a family member.
