Florida Man Arrested for Brutally Beating Mother to Death with Concrete Brick over Trust Fund Money

Honk News– A 36-year-old man in Florida has been arrested following allegations that he was recorded violently attacking his mother with a brick, subsequently informing an emergency dispatcher that he had “put her down.”

On Monday, Russell Antonio Moore was arrested and faces charges of premeditated first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of Shambray Lavern Levy, according to court records.

A probable cause affidavit reveals that at approximately 8:22 a.m. on December 9, Moore contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, making remarks about “being put down by lethal injection” and then claimed, “There’s a dead body here” and “I put her down.” He revealed his identity and stated that the victim was Shambray Lavern Levy, his mother.

When first responders reached the residence on Beaty Grove Drive, they expressed concern for the victim’s safety and proceeded to enter the home for a welfare check. Authorities discovered Levy’s body on the floor, wrapped in blood-stained blankets, with signs of visible marbling and indications of decomposition.

A home surveillance camera reportedly captured Moore attacking Levy inside the residence around 3:30 p.m. on December 6. Authorities provided a brief overview of the brutal six-minute assault:

Following the tragic incident involving his mother, Moore reportedly took a shovel to destroy the surveillance camera.

A friend of Levy informed authorities that she had advised Levy to secure her door after Levy shared details of a past incident involving domestic violence, where Moore reportedly hit her and threatened her with brass knuckles.

Moore’s sister informed the authorities that when she was unable to reach her mother that morning, she contacted Moore, who reassured her, “It’s fine.” Everything has been handled. The affidavit mentions, “They’ll just put me down [with] lethal injection.”

A little while later, the sister reportedly informed detectives that Levy had “recently come into a significant sum of money” following the death of her mother and intended to leave a portion to Moore “in case of her own passing.”

During an interview after being read his rights, detectives inquired about Moore’s employment, to which he reportedly gave a peculiar answer.

Moore reportedly made unprompted remarks regarding his “constitutional right” to “lethal injection” prior to asking for legal representation.

Moore is being held without bond and is set to appear in court on Friday for a pretrial detention hearing, according to records.
