Miami-Dade, FL: Two separate houses in South Florida caught fire over the weekend, causing injuries to a teenager, a toddler, and a fireman.
A strong fire in the Northwest Miami-Dade neighborhood necessitated the intervention of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units at a residence on the 1700 block of Northwest 59th Street early Saturday morning.
WSVN reported that two victims, a 2-year-old kid and a 15-year-old teenager, were taken to Ryder Trauma Center for medical treatment. CBS News Miami’s report verified that a child from the same event was hospitalized.
Cameras at the hospital entrance recorded the arrival of the victims as firefighting crews battled a blaze.
The medical professionals are continuing to care for the teen and toddler hospitalized in the Miami-Dade event, and their conditions have not been reported to the public.
Compounding the chaos, another fire ignited to the north of Miami-Dade, in Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue teams were sent to a single-family residence in the 1500 block of Northwest 19th Avenue.
While attempting to put out the fire, a fireman sustained minor injuries and was then sent to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment, according to WSVN.

Reportedly, the American Red Cross is providing assistance to two persons impacted by the Fort Lauderdale fire. The weekend’s fires have deeply affected community members.
