Family Member Reported Woman of Child Abuse; Arrested after Victim Described Abuse in Texas

A Midland woman has been taken into custody following reports from her family to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) regarding potential child abuse, as stated by Sergeant Thomas Gray with MCSO.

On Tuesday, October 22, deputies from MCSO responded to a call regarding child custody matters in the 3700 block of West County Road 138.

A juvenile informed MCSO that returning home was not safe while deputies were present.

Gray reported that family members present informed deputies that the juvenile’s mother, Jacqueline Pruneda Hinojos, may have physically harmed the juvenile.

Gray announced that MCSO’s Criminal Investigation Division identified sufficient grounds to arrest Hinojos for causing harm to a child.

Gray reports that Hinojos was also wanted for breaching federal probation terms.

Hinojos is now in custody at the Midland County Central Detention Center with a bond set at $100,000.
