According to the West Richland police, investigators have the belief that Huizar possesses weapons and is deemed to be a threat, with a high probability of engaging in more criminal activities.

From 2009 to 2022, Huizar was employed with the Yakima Police Department. According to the department, Huizar departed from the organization due to disciplinary grounds. The nature of the discipline was not revealed. From February 2022 until his arrest in February, Huizar served as a substitute teacher at the Richland School District.

Local media sites claimed in February that Huizar was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl who was asleep. According to court documents cited by Pasco CBS station KEPR, Huizar, who was a police officer with the Yakima Police, served as a school resource officer at a middle school. During his time there, he encountered a girl, who is now 17 years old, whom he regards as his “girlfriend.”

On February 2nd, a girl and her 16-year-old companion consumed alcohol at Huizar’s residence. Allegedly, the buddy grew ill, causing the two females to fall asleep. According to the records, it has been stated that the girlfriend awoke to witness Huizar engaging in sexual assault against her friend. The girls absconded and reached out to the police.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, he purportedly erected a barricade within his residence for a duration of two hours with the intention of removing any evidence prior to his apprehension.

He faced charges of second-degree rape and the act of providing alcohol to individuals under the legal age. In addition, he is confronted with an allegation of third-degree rape. Huizar posted a bail amount of $200,000 and remained released on bond during the pendency of the cases.
