DENVER, Colo. — Authorities are searching for the driver of a BMW X3 SUV involved in a four-car hit-and-run crash that left at least one person seriously injured near Sloan Lake on Saturday afternoon, according to the Denver Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Crash Details
The collision occurred just after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Sheridan Boulevard and West 17th Avenue, near the southwest corner of Sloan’s Lake Park. Police said the driver of the BMW struck at least one other car, triggering a multi-vehicle crash that blocked the northbound lanes of Sheridan Boulevard.
Photos from the scene showed several damaged vehicles and debris scattered across the roadway. One person was reported to have suffered serious injuries, though their current condition has not been released.
Suspect Vehicle Description
Investigators identified the suspect vehicle as a grayish-gold 2008 BMW X3 with Colorado license plate ECB-F17. The CBI issued a Medina Alert shortly after the crash, noting that the SUV is likely to have heavy damage on the driver’s side.
Police Appeal
Authorities are urging anyone who spots the BMW or has information about the driver to call 911 or contact the Denver Police Department immediately.
The Medina Alert remains active as police continue their investigation into the hit-and-run crash near Sloan Lake.
