Daycare Employees Forced 8-year-old into Inappropriate Acts and Recorded Abuse; Arrested by Pennsylvania Authorities

Charges have been filed by State Police against two residents of Cumberland County, including one who was recently employed at a local childcare center.

Two individuals, Jamie Souders, 42, from Middlesex Township, and Morgan Rothenhoefer, 24, from the Carlisle area, are facing multiple felony charges related to child pornography.

Authorities launched an inquiry after a digital storage firm notified them about suspicious images suggesting the upload of child pornography. Following the execution of a search warrant, authorities reported discovering images and footage involving several children.

An affidavit claims that Souders allegedly urged an 8-year-old to engage in oral sex with Rothenhoefer. Several videos reportedly feature the child and Rothenhoefer, but State Police indicate that the suspects assert they were not inebriated and do not recall certain alleged incidents.

According to State Police, Rothenhoefer stated that she was “very drunk and on cocaine and Adderall” when the recordings were made.

A statement from the legal counsel for Tender Years, a childcare facility, reveals that Rothenhoefer was employed at the Walden location in Silver Spring Township starting August 7, 2024, following criminal background checks.

The lawyer for the facility claims that Rothenhoefer collaborated with another adult in the presence of children and that the accusations against her took place before she was hired. Rothenhoefer was fired from her job at the childcare facility after being arrested on September 12, 2024, following the allegations.

The Cumberland County District Attorney’s office reports that both individuals are facing charges related to additional victims beyond those discovered by the storage company.

Rothenhoefer and Souders remain in custody at Cumberland County Prison, with bail denied.
