A Colorado dentist reportedly traveled a considerable distance to Florida with the intention of engaging in inappropriate activities with a single mother and her young daughter, expressing his disturbing desire to be involved in such actions.
A 50-year-old man, Dr. Jason James Atha, was arrested last Friday in West Palm Beach after being found in possession of child pornography and sexual paraphernalia, according to federal prosecutors.
Atha had been communicating with the mother, who was later revealed to be an undercover agent, in an online chatroom since last October. This was after the mother made a concerning post about giving sex toys to her elementary-age daughter during playtime. These details were revealed in a federal indictment obtained by the Palm Beach Post.
“That’s a beautiful thing,” Atha is alleged to have replied. “I would sooo love to be a part of that.”
In other messages, the dentist also wrote, “I would love to find mother-daughter to play with.”
The two individuals continued to exchange a series of explicit messages over the next few months. Eventually, Atha began making arrangements to meet up with the mother and daughter for sexual purposes, according to federal authorities.

A complaint alleges that Atha, an employee at Alpine Dentistry in Boulder, Colo., requested the mother to dress her daughter in attire that was not suitable for her age and to apply makeup for the appointment.
According to federal authorities, he made flight reservations and intended to spend the previous weekend in West Palm Beach.
A dentist was apprehended upon arrival at the airport.
Atha has been charged with attempted enticement of a minor and could potentially face a life sentence if found guilty.
