Cardi B confirmed reports that her relationship with rapper Offset had ended on Monday by declaring on an Instagram Live that she was solo.
The rappers have publicly split up several times, but they have always made up.
“I’ve been single for a short while, but I haven’t wanted to say that I’m terrified. Grammy-winning rapper “I just don’t know how to tell the world,” he stated in the live video.
Speculation began when fans discovered that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram in the previous week. Cardi subtly hinted to her new relationship status in an earlier live broadcast, saying, “You gotta get rid of dead weight, and when it comes to dead weight… I’ll list attitude, people, sloth, and procrastination. Many people are also useless weight.
The caption for one of her Instagram stories said, “You know when you just outgrow relationships,” and she also added, “I’m tired of protecting peoples’ feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST.”
Early in 2017, Cardi B and Offset started dating, and in September of the same year, they got married.
A few months after their daughter was born, in late 2018, Cardi declared that she and her partner were divorcing. Midway through 2019, they were back together, but a few weeks later, Cardi withdrew her divorce petition from Offset, which she had filed in 2020. Since then, a second child has been welcomed.
