California School Reported Inappropriate Relations between Teacher and Student; Suspect in Jail for Molesting Teen Student

Honk News (Modesto, CA) A California high school Spanish teacher faces allegations of engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage student, as reported by law enforcement.

Dulce Flores, an educator at Riverbank High School near Modesto, faces charges for engaging in sexual relations with a 17-year-old student in 2023, as reported by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

The 33-year-old had been instructing at the institution since 2016, authorities reported.

Officials have initiated an inquiry into the ill teacher following a report from a school representative regarding the improper relationship.

A leave of absence has been issued as the investigation unfolds, as stated by the Riverbank Unified School District, according to the Modesto Bee.

The district announced its collaboration with authorities and has reached out to the families of students in Flores’ classes to ensure a smooth continuation of their education for the rest of the academic year.

“It is truly unfortunate for our district to face a situation like this,” Superintendent Constantino Aguilar said. “While we continue to work with law enforcement, the district will also look to determine what options it may have available to independently address this matter.”

On Tuesday, Flores was taken into custody at her residence and subsequently booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for allegations involving unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Authorities reported that she was detained with a bail set at $20,000.
