California Parents Arrested after Deputies found Adopted Son Dead with His Body Showing Extreme Abuse Signs at Moreno Valley Residence

Moreno Valley, CA- Authorities reported that a couple is encountering legal issues after the tragic passing of their 10-year-old adopted son.

Alejandra Marin, 51, and Juan Sanchez Moreno, 59, have been taken into custody and face charges of murder, torture, and child abuse following the death of a young boy at a local hospital on Thursday, Nov. 21, according to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

A child was discovered in “medical distress” by deputies at a home in Moreno Valley earlier today, with their identity being withheld.

A preliminary inquiry into the boy’s death showed indications of potential neglect and abuse. According to the release, the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit has been brought in to assist with the investigation.

Authorities reported that the juvenile’s adoptive parents, Alejandra Marin and Juan Sanchez Moreno, who live in Moreno Valley, have been arrested on charges of murder, torture, and child abuse following a joint investigation by the Central Homicide Unit and Special Victims Unit.

Marin has been taken into custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center, and no bail has been established, as per inmate search records. She will be in court on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Details regarding Moreno’s booking and court appearance have not yet been released. The inquiry is still in progress.
