California Man Molested Teen; Arrested and Slapped with Charges after Police Raid

A Eureka man was arrested on Thursday and taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for charges including lewd acts with a minor and human trafficking, among others.

On the afternoon of September 19, deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant on the 2900 block of Essex Street in Eureka.

Authorities conducted a search at the home, leading to the arrest of 53-year-old Darin Michael Ward. Authorities reported that they confiscated evidence of the crime from the home.

Ward faces the following charges:

  • 2 counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor
  • Contact with minor intent to commit a specified offense
  • Promoting/using/persuading or inducing underage-obscene matter
  • Human trafficking

Ward’s bail has been established at $1,035,000, and the investigation into this case is ongoing.
