A former California Fire Captain is again in court confronted with another accusation of child sexual assault following the disclosure of a third victim last year. A total of 75 charges were previously filed against the captain two years ago.
In the summer of 2022, Peter Mock was apprehended in Shasta County and formally accused of 74 instances of sexual assault targeted at a minor. Several months following his apprehension, a second underage individual stepped forward alleging that Mock had subjected them to abuse, therefore introducing an additional accusation.
Law enforcement documents indicate that the mistreatment of one of the victims occurred over a period of 4 to 5 years.
Following his first detention without bond, Mock was subsequently granted bail in the amount of $250,000 and was released from jail in January 2023.
Now, rather more than two years after the initiation of this case, Mock is undergoing trial for another instance of child abuse, therefore increasing the number of victims to three. Contacting the District Attorney’s office, we were informed that the supplementary victim included a count of obscene actions committed against a minor below the age of 14.
The latest accusation is now subsumed under an independent legal proceeding, therefore increasing the cumulative number of allegations against him to 76.
The District Attorney’s office has scheduled Mock’s next court date for October 7th.
