California Father Arrested for Killing 1-year-old Son using Knife; Authorities Found Dead Kid in Bedroom

Honk News– A one-year-old boy from California is being honored as a “kind and joyful soul” following the shocking accusation against his father for his tragic death.

On Friday, December 20, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced via a press release on Facebook that Andrey Demskiy was taken into custody at approximately 4:15 a.m. local time after a 911 call reported a “family disturbance.”

Deputies from the North Patrol of the SCSO arrived on the scene, where Demskiy, 28, faced allegations from his wife regarding assaults on her and her mother, according to police reports.

Demskiy’s “refused to answer the door and surrender peacefully and officials discovered that a young child was left alone in the home with him. Reports indicate that the father may have harmed the child by throwing him. According to their statement, SCSO deputies subsequently “forced their way” into the residence.

Upon entering, authorities found Demskiy to be “uncooperative” and “physically resistive,” alongside the severed head of a child in a bedroom. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Child Abuse Bureau, along with crime scene investigators, subsequently arrived at the location.

Authorities report that Demskiy employed a knife to “behead and murder” the one-year-old child.

Amar Gandhi, a representative for the SCSO, expressed to KCRA that the reported beheading was “one of the most horrific things” he has encountered. He remarked that officials appeared to be “clearly unsettled.”

“For this family who has got to pick up the pieces and go on — I mean, their world is shattered,” Gandhi said.

Gandhi expressed to the outlet that he “cannot think of a worse call in 20 years” and that authorities will have the case “in their hearts and minds for the rest of their careers and beyond.”
