Bill Skarsgård, known for his famous portrayal in horror movies, revealed that he is a big fan of MMA and UFC. This love and passion drove him to play the lead role in the Moritz Mohr-directed movie “Boy Kills World.”
The director revealed that Skarsgård was not his first choice but he is genuinely impressed by the transformation of the actor for the role of an assassin.
The movie is action-packed and viewer saw it the movie at the crossroads of John Wick and The Hunger Games. The movie is based on a real-life account as claimed by the director. In interviews with GamesRadar+ and the Inside Total Film podcast, director Moritz Mohr expressed excitement about the parallel but expressed doubt about its accuracy.
“That’s an honor to some degree because these films are just amazing,” he says. “I think we are coming from a slightly different angle there because we tried to make a martial arts movie and then we added some guns to it whereas John Wick had guns and then it sort of added some martial arts to it, even more towards the later installments of the series. So yeah, I mean, those are gorgeous-looking action movies, but top-notch action, so if people want to compare them, I’m all for it.”
Bill Skarsgård plays the lead role of Boy, a guy who is deaf and dumb and has dedicated years of training to become a top-tier fighter, all in pursuit of avenging his family’s murder.
Along with Skarsgård as Boy, the movie stars Jessica Rothe as June 27, Michelle Dockery as Melanie van der Koy, and Brett Gelman from Stranger Things as Gideon van der Koy. They are all members of a cruel family that rules over a future world. Also, Bob’s Burgers star H. Jon Benjamin plays Boy’s inner voice, which is a fun change from Skarsgård’s action hero.
