Where Did the Shooting Take Place?

The shooting is set in the town of Shipton Abbott, South Devon. The production considered a number of locations, but the producers settled on the West Country as they felt that Devon hadn’t been used very often in TV dramas.

They also decided to film in the Cornish town of Looe because it had a thriving community with fishing businesses, some scenes were taken at the University of Plymouth, Devon. Shipton Abbott is set slightly back from the coast so many different storylines could be developed.
