Alabama Mother Arrested Over Disturbing Abuse Photos of Son Discovered by Authorities

Montgomery, AL – A woman from Alabama has been taken into custody and is facing charges related to the death of her young son, who is now thought to have died several months after going missing.

A 22-year-old woman, Wendy Pamela Jean Bailey, faces serious charges including aggravated child abuse, criminally negligent homicide, corpse abuse, and domestic violence, as reported by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

Kahleb Collins, just one year old, was last spotted on September 4 in Winfield, Alabama, according to a statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) on December 17. Despite this, authorities were not informed of his disappearance until they were notified about worries regarding his safety following a car accident on December 8.

A tragic car accident claimed the life of 40-year-old Steven Collins, the father of a two-year-old girl, RyLeigh Collins. Authorities reported that he was driving at speeds exceeding 92 miles per hour when he veered off the road and collided with a tree. His mother is currently in the hospital, facing a serious health crisis.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office reported that law enforcement was notified by an unnamed family member the following day about the man and woman involved in the crash, stating that they “had another child” who was missing.

Bailey was taken into custody on December 30 and promptly moved to the Fayette County Jail, facing charges related to the tragic deaths of her two children.

She faces allegations related to her daughter’s death, which occurred while the child was unrestrained in the vehicle, as well as neglecting to report her son’s abuse and demonstrating a profound disregard for her son’s well-being.

Authorities have yet to locate Kahleb’s remains, but they suspect that he “had been deceased for some time” prior to the incident that alerted law enforcement to his absence. The search for his remains continues.

On December 11, Kahleb’s grandfather, John Elton Bailey, was arrested for not reporting a missing child.

In a recent complaint against John Bailey, investigators claimed that the child may have experienced “serious bodily harm or death” and was thought to have been “taken from the home to an unknown location.”

A newly submitted complaint regarding corpse abuse has uncovered shocking information about the torment Kahleb faced in the days and weeks prior to his presumed death.

Bailey acknowledged not stepping in on multiple instances when Khaleb Rowan Collins was subjected to severe physical abuse, including being restrained with rope, assaulted, and left hanging from a loft, showing signs of blood and bruising.

According to the complaint, she alleged that Collins communicated through text messages expressing intentions to kill Kahleb, followed by sending her disturbing images of him “suspended with a rope, blood visible on his body, and a photo of Kahleb Collins lying on the floor with severe bruising.”

Collins continued to message Bailey, expressing, “he want move” and “Im so sorry,” followed by “he moving.”

Bailey responded: “He appears exhausted, weary, and in pain; hopefully, that’s all there is to it.”

The complaint reveals that Bailey informed investigators that following Kahleb Rowan Collins’ death, his body was placed in a bag and kept in an outdoor storage facility for a short time before being disposed of at an undisclosed site.

Bailey remains in custody at the Fayette County Jail, with the sheriff’s office indicating that additional charges may be forthcoming.
