Dominick Taylor, who is 54 years old, admitted to killing Damian B. Scott in February and was charged with first-degree murder. Scott had mental and physical problems and could not walk. The DuPage County state’s attorney’s office says Taylor was Scott’s main provider.
The body of 43-year-old Scott was found by Taylor’s wife in his bedroom at the house they all shared on April 26, 2020. She called the Bloomingdale police right away, and they started an investigation.
Police said that Taylor, who had been taking care of Scott full-time for over ten years, strangled his cousin in the bedroom early that morning.
Authorities say Taylor took money from his wife’s bank account, turned off his phone, and bought a one-way Amtrak train ticket from Chicago to East Lansing without telling his family or wife.
Taylor was caught on April 28, 2020, in Michigan because he had a warrant out for his arrest. He refused to be extradited, and a Governor’s Warrant was issued, which made it possible for him to come back.
Since June 2020, he has been locked up at the county jail. Taylor will have to do the whole time of his term as per DailyHerald.
