Natchitoches Man Arrested Following Gunfire Incident on Pearl Street

NATCHITOCHES, La. — The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) has arrested an 18-year-old man following reports of gunfire on Pearl Street Thursday morning.

Suspect Arrested After Brief Chase

According to NPD, officers responded to the 300 block of Pearl Street on December 18, shortly after 10 a.m., after receiving multiple calls about shots being fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect, later identified as Desmond Williams, was still believed to be nearby. After a short foot chase, Williams was taken into custody several blocks away without further incident.

Charges Filed

Authorities confirmed that Desmond Williams has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Illegal possession of a firearm
  • Aggravated criminal damage to property
  • Discharging a firearm within city limits

Williams was booked into the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center, according to officials.
