PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Friday afternoon in the Sumner neighborhood, where a man was struck and killed after exiting his vehicle.
Deadly Crash on Northeast Prescott Street
According to police, officers responded around 3:04 p.m. to reports of a crash in the 8700 block of Northeast Prescott Street. When first responders arrived, they found a male victim deceased at the scene.
Investigators say the driver responsible fled before officers arrived, and no suspect information has been released at this time.
Road Closures and Investigation
As of Friday evening, Northeast Prescott Street remains closed between Northeast 86th and 88th avenues while the Major Crash Team processes the scene and gathers evidence. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays as the investigation continues.
