GOODYEAR, Arizona – Police say two accused shoplifters are in severe condition after jumping off a bridge on I-10 in Goodyear on Sunday night.
It all began around 5:30 p.m. on June 1 when cops were dispatched to the Dysart and McDowell roads area to investigate accusations of shoplifting.
“The caller provided a car description and stated that it was still in the parking lot. Officers came, found the car, and attempted a traffic stop. “The vehicle failed to yield and eventually came to a stop on the I-10 freeway near Dysart,” Goodyear Police Sgt. Mayra Reeson said.
A man and lady apparently got out of the automobile and jumped off the highway bridge. They were sent to the hospital in critical condition.
Sgt. Reeson said three people remained inside the car and were apprehended.
This incident is still under investigation.
There were no names published in this case.
Police did not specify where the suspected shoplifting occurred or what they stole.
