Green Township, Clinton County — According to Pennsylvania State Police, a chase began in Union County and ended with police employing force across the county.
According to a Pennsylvania State Police release, a trooper attempted to stop a white Ford F-250 with dark tinted windows for speeding on PA-15 near Joe Road in White Deer Township, Union County, just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The trooper claims he activated his emergency lights, but the motorist failed to stop over and continued into Greene Township.
Additional units aided in the pursuit, successfully deploying spike strips.
“Additional use of force operations were conducted,” ending in an officer shooting after the truck came to a halt, according to the release.
Troopers said the motorist had a leg injury, and troopers on the scene took life-saving measures.
The operator was subsequently taken to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Officials said no troopers were hurt during the incident.
An investigation is now underway.
Interstate 80 West in Greene Township was blocked around 8:45 p.m. for an investigation and reopened around 3:00 a.m., according to 511pa.com.
