If You Live In This State, Expect Stimulus Checks Ranging from $1,000 to $1,400 Soon

Once the amount is known, the payment dates for the PFD 2025 will be released. Deposits have always been made in the same month, and we know the exact date. More than 600,000 permanent residents of a state that shares oil industry income get money every year from a stimulus check program.

The Permanent Fund Dividend Program (PFD) gives money to Alaskans who are qualified every year. The fund, which is paid for by oil profits, wants to help people now and in the future. The Alaska Department of Revenue – Permanent Fund Dividend says that to be eligible, you must have lived in Alaska continuously and not have any major convictions.

People want to give out stimulus checks worth up to $3,900

The deadline to apply for 2025 was March 31. In Anchorage and Fairbanks, you could apply online or in person. In Juneau, there were actual drop boxes set up because of the Seward’s Day holiday. It is thought that about the same number of people will apply for the benefit as in past years, which was 600,000.

The Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) number has not been set in stone as of May 9, 2025. The state legislature started on January 21 and will end on May 21. Due to budget problems, PFD plans are very different.

Governor Mike Dunleavy wants to pay each person $3,900, but Alaska Public Media says that this amount isn’t likely to work because it would mean spending an extra $1.5 billion.

Several analysts have recently used a formula to predict that 25% of the fund’s annual withdrawal can be made. This would mean a PFD of $1,400. But on May 2, the Senate Finance Committee offered a level of $1,000, which would be the lowest in five years when inflation is taken into account. This number aims to cut down on the state debt, which has been growing over the past few years, and use some of the PFD funds to do so.

The same source says that in April, the House of Representatives agreed to pay $1,400. The amount is unclear because both chambers can’t agree on it. Based on the 2024 PFD, which was $1,702, Forbes talks about estimates of up to $1,700, but this number is not official proof.

Is it certain when these boost checks will be sent?

The due dates for 2025 have not been set. Deposits usually happen in the fall, after the amount is made public. In 2024, the payment was made in October, a few days after the news came out on September 19.

Some news outlets have said that the payment might happen in May, but that month hasn’t been proven. It’s more likely that the checks will be sent out between September and October 2025. When the dates are set, they will depend on how much money each eligible family will get.

Need to meet certain PFD standards to get the money

In order to get the 2025 PFD, you must have lived in Alaska continuously since 2013 and plan to stay there forever. The Alaska Department of Revenue also says that you can’t say that you live in other states or that you have major convictions. From January 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025, people had to send in their applications.

Ninety percent of the requests to be a part of the program were made online. People who missed the deadline can still file an appeal in certain situations, like medical issues. However, changes made after the fact are not allowed, according to the rules of the present program.
