Police Launch Murder Probe After Bestselling Novelist Found Dead on Houseboat

After a famous author was found dead on her houseboat in Hamburg, Germany, police have started looking into it as a murder.

A statement from Hamburg Police to CNN said that Alexandra Fröhlich’s body was found on her houseboat in the Moorfleet area of the German city by her family.

“A 58-year-old woman was found dead on her houseboat in Hamburg’s Moorfleet district on Tuesday morning,” the statement said. “The police and public prosecutor’s office are now assuming a murder and are asking the public for information.”

It also said that Fröhlich’s family called the fire department first when they found her dead body, but the cops were soon called.

“As the cause of death was not clear and outside influences could not be ruled out,” the statement said. “Officers from the homicide squad took over the investigation at the scene in close coordination with the public prosecutor’s office.” Police divers were also sent to the scene.

After looking at the scene and the proof, the police think that “the woman died because of violence.”

The cops asked people who might have been witnesses to get in touch with them with any information they had about the case.

Fröhlich wrote books and worked as an independent magazine editor. She began her work life as a reporter. German publisher Knaur, which put out her first book, says she started a women’s magazine in Kyiv.

“My Russian Mother-in-Law and Other Catastrophes” and “There’s Always Someone Dying,” two of Spiegel’s most recent books, were hits, according to Penguin.
