Honk News (Conway County, AR) – A deputy from the Conway County Sheriff’s Office has been taken into custody and is now confronting allegations of sexually assaulting a minor.
In a recent social media update, it was reported that the CCSO received communication in early January from agents of the Arkansas State Police’s Crimes Against Children Division regarding claims of sexual assault involving an unnamed deputy and a minor.
Officials announced that the constable was promptly placed on administrative leave, and during the course of the investigation, he chose to resign for retirement.
Authorities announced that on Saturday, the sheriff’s office received fresh details from the victim’s family concerning an additional claim of inappropriate contact involving the minor and Joseph Taylor Dube, who remained employed with the CCSO and was known to the victim’s family.
Following interviews and evidence gathered by investigators, Dube has been arrested and is now confronting allegations of child grooming and rape.
Authorities announced that Dube was promptly dismissed by the CCSO and taken to a different location.
According to a statement from the CCSO, officials emphasized that the sheriff’s office disapproves of Dube’s actions and will not accept them in any form or extent.
“The Conway County Sheriff’s Office strives to be transparent with our citizens to the fullest extent possible without jeopardizing ongoing investigations. We, as a law enforcement agency are committed to serving our community, we do not condone any of the actions in these incidents and will not tolerate them to any degree or in any manner,” the release said. “The Conway County Sheriff’s Office will continue to fully cooperate with and support the Arkansas State Police in their investigation into these incidents. These actions are not a reflection of the values held at the Conway County Sheriff’s Office, and we are saddened, disappointed, and angered by them.”
