Pastor Arrested after He Molested Teen Girl Decades Ago in Utah; Cited His Help to Her Family when Confronted

Honk News (Salt Lake City, UT) – A former branch president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints faces serious charges related to the assault of a teenager.

On Tuesday, Sim Gill, the Salt Lake County Attorney General, revealed several charges against Armando Flores related to sexual assaults that reportedly started in 2002 when the victim was just 14 years old.

In 2012, Flores faced conviction for sexual battery against a 17-year-old member of his church.

Charging documents reveal that Flores held the position of branch president within the church that the victim and her family became a part of after relocating to Utah.

Flores faces allegations of engaging in inappropriate conversations about sexual acts with the victim during driving lessons, and on another occasion, he reportedly provided her with wine while she was at his residence. Following a night where the victim discovered herself in Flores’s bed without clothing, she reported confronting him about the incident. In response, Flores purportedly “reminded [the victim] of everything he had done for her family and that they needed him,” which influenced her decision not to inform her family.

The records indicate that Flores purportedly persisted in sexually assaulting the girl, even mentioning a doctor “who could stitch her up and restore her virginity.”

Flores acknowledged that the victim sent him a letter expressing gratitude for his support to her family in his role as branch president of the church, while also addressing the issue of the assault against her.

Flores faces serious allegations, including two counts of first-degree felony rape and one count of first-degree object rape.
