Texas Family Reported 17-year-old Son was Molested by Several Men; Deputy Arrested after Investigation

Honk News (Montgomery County, TX) – A deputy from Montgomery County has been taken into custody and has stepped down from his role after an inquiry into claims of child sexual assault.

In January 2025, a concerned parent in Montgomery County alerted authorities about their 17-year-old son, who had allegedly been subjected to sexual abuse and exploitation by multiple adult men he encountered on social media platforms. The events are said to have started when the boy was approximately 14 or 15 years of age.

A probe conducted by the Human Trafficking Unit revealed that Landon Slatter had been in contact with the victim when he was under 17 and sought a sexual encounter. It has come to light that Slatter held a position as a deputy sheriff with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Landon Slatter, 42, has been arrested in Conroe and is now in the Montgomery County Jail facing charges related to the sexual assault of a minor.

After 15 years of service with the sheriff’s office, Slatter resigned promptly following his arrest.

“Upholding the trust and safety of our community is not just a responsibility, it is a duty we take seriously. The actions of one individual do not define the dedication and integrity of the men and women who serve honorably in this agency. Service means protecting our community, especially the most vulnerable. Teamwork means working alongside our law enforcement partners to uphold justice,” Sheriff Wesley Doolittle said in a statement.

“Accountability means ensuring that no one is above the law, and Respect means holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards. When trust is broken, we will act swiftly and decisively. We remain fully committed to transparency, justice, and cooperation with our partners in this investigation,” he added.
