Jay-Z Sues Former Rape Accuser and Lawyer for Alleged False Claims, Seeks $20M+ in Damages

Honk News (Montgomery, AL) – In an Alabama court, Jay-Z is suing his former rape accuser and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, alleging that they colluded to falsely accuse him of sexual assault, which allegedly cost him at least $20 million.

In a complaint seen by Page Six, the hip-hop legend alleges that the defendants, which also include attorney David Fortney, “were soullessly motivated by greed, in abject disregard of the truth and the most fundamental precepts of human decency.”

The former rape accuser, Jane Doe, has “voluntarily admitted” that Buzbee “pushed her towards going forward with the false story against Mr. Carter” after a “extortionate demand letter failed to yield the financial windfall,” according to court documents filed by Jay-Z, who is suing for malicious prosecution, abuse of process, civil conspiracy, and defamation.

“Buzbee brought Jay-Z into it,” Doe allegedly admitted, according to the court filing.

In December 2024, Doe appeared on NBC News and said in an unidentified on-camera interview that the “Can I Get A…” rapper had sexually assaulted her in 2000 during an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in New York. According to her, she was just 13 at the time.

Doe said that she was also abused by Sean “Diddy” Combs. The troubled artist refuted those allegations.

But according to Jay-Z’s complaint, Buzbee is said to have met Doe “for the first time at a coffee shop in Houston on the day of her maliciously false NBC News interview.”

Doe has acknowledged in public that she met Benji Madden at the purported afterparty, one of the “inconsistencies” in her NBC News complaint. According to a representative for the rock star Good Charlotte, he and his twin brother, Joel Madden, were traveling halfway across the nation when the claimed event occurred.

Her father told NBC News that he didn’t remember the lengthy drive, which would have taken more than five hours, but that it was “something that would definitely stick in my mind” despite her claim in the sit-down that he had picked her up from the party.
