Ohio Teacher Charged after Investigation which Revealed that He Had Been Sleeping Around with Teen Student

Honk News (Dayton, OH) A teacher has been officially charged following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Documents from the Preble County court reveal that 31-year-old Garrett Stringer-Smith faces an indictment on 10 counts of sexual battery, as determined by a Grand Jury in Preble County.

Officials launched an inquiry into the purported connection earlier this year. A 17-year-old student has reported to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office that their communication started in January 2024, evolving into a sexual relationship by last October.

In February, Stringer-Smith was taken into custody at his residence after the inquiry concluded. Officials report that they confiscated multiple items pertinent to the inquiry during the apprehension.

Authorities have disclosed that their investigation uncovered the relationship occurred at multiple sites, including the school premises. Authorities presently do not think there are any further victims involved.

Twin Valley Schools has taken action by dismissing Stringer-Smith from his role and prohibiting him from accessing school grounds after his arrest. Officials from the school have announced that they are carrying out an internal investigation in conjunction with law enforcement authorities.

Stringer-Smith is scheduled to return to court on March 21.
