Honk News (El Paso, TX) – A 20-year-old man was taken into custody on Wednesday, February 26, for reportedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old last year, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
Authorities reported that a 20-year-old man named Joseph Nicholas Garcia was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon in the 300 block of Emerald Woods. He was subsequently taken into custody at the El Paso County Detention Facility, where a total bond of $30,000 was set.
Last September, a 17-year-old girl came forward with allegations of sexual assault that occurred during a friend’s gathering in Horizon City. According to Horizon Police, the victim reported that the suspect, identified as Garcia, “forced himself on her.”
After a comprehensive investigation, Horizon Police announced that detectives successfully identified Garcia as the suspect through a photo line-up.
Recently in Minnesota, two individuals have been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a college student in central Minnesota, leading to the issuance of nationwide warrants for their arrest.
Dipak Phayal, 20, is confronted with grave allegations, including first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as first-degree aiding and abetting criminal sexual conduct, as outlined in the charging documents. Sujan Tamang, 19, faces charges of two counts related to first-degree aiding and abetting criminal sexual conduct, in addition to one count of fourth-degree of the same offense.
