Iowa Man Arrested as He Paid Minor to Sleep with Him and Perform Inappropriate Acts with Him Several Times

Honk News (Iowa City, IA) – A business owner in Iowa City is confronting 27 felony charges following allegations that he compensated a minor for sexual acts.

Pablo Mejia Aguilar, 41, the proprietor of Super Star Granite in Iowa City, is confronting serious legal charges, including 13 counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a child, 13 counts of prostitution, and one count of drug distribution to a minor. These allegations stem from claims that he developed a relationship with a minor, compensating them over $1,000 for sexual intercourse.

In 2023, Mejia Aguilar submitted a conditional use permit application for his business, Super Star Granite, located at 3535 Dolphin Drive SE in Iowa City, to Johnson County.

The 41-year-old reportedly engaged in sexual encounters with the minor on “around 13 separate occasions.” According to the criminal complaint, location data retrieved from the minor’s cell phone indicates that they convened at both a residence and a business owned by Mejia Aguilar.
