A shooting involving a gas station owner is currently under investigation by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office following an incident on Friday night.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., the SCSO reported that the owner of FastTrip Gas Station, situated at 8061 Florin Road, fired two shots at a man, hitting him in the chest. The details surrounding the shooting remain uncertain, but the sheriff’s office has clarified that it was not a case of a robbery gone awry. The proprietor of the shop has been taken into custody, and authorities have allegedly retrieved the firearm from its owner.
The SCSO reports that the situation unfolded as the store owner exited the building following his shift. At that moment, the victim and a woman were seated outside the store, which remained operational. The store owner unexpectedly returned to FastTrip and engaged in conversation with the victim and the woman.
Authorities reported that the shopkeeper “somehow became frightened” during the discussion and fired at the victim twice. Following the incident, the woman accompanying the victim fled the scene and remains unaccounted for. A local hospital has received the victim, who is in critical condition, as authorities continue to investigate the incident.
