Kemah, Texas – A woman expressed that she was not surprised by the recent developments regarding Charles Finnell, her former professor at Lee College in Baytown.
“He suggested considering him as a parental figure.” The former student remarked, “He typically employed it metaphorically to convey his willingness to assist, yet it wasn’t personal.” “He made remarks about the bodies of certain female students.” In the classroom, he made remarks about a girl’s appearance and similar topics.
We contacted Lee College for their response. The school informed FOX 26 that Finnel has been on administrative leave from October 20 to 24.
On Wednesday, February 19, Lee College received news regarding the arrest of Charles Finnell, a college employee who has been on administrative leave since October 2024, as per our internal policies, by the Kemah Police Department.

On February 1, around noon, a meeting took place at Frankie Carter Randolph Park involving 56-year-old Charles Rodney Finnell and a 26-year-old woman, following their connection on Tinder, as reported by Kemah Police.
According to the Kemah Police Department, following a gathering at the park, the 26-year-old proceeded to Finnell’s residence located at 500 Bay Avenue in Kemah.
Kemah PD reports that Finnell allegedly made unwelcome advances towards the victim, who attempted to escape, but he is said to have subsequently strangled and assaulted her.
