Honk News (Frankfort, IN) – A man from Frankfort has been taken into custody following allegations of child molestation and other sexual offenses.
Richard Henson, 76, faces preliminary charges involving multiple serious offenses related to child molestation, sexual misconduct with a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Court documents reveal that one of the victims, aged 13 at the time of their initial encounter with the suspect, informed investigators about their frequent visits to Henson’s residence, where they reportedly engaged in the consumption of alcohol and marijuana together.
Legal filings reveal the victim’s account of Henson requesting sexual contact prior to offering alcohol or marijuana. The individual revealed that they drank heavily enough to the point of “blacking out” during a visit to Henson’s residence.
The individual recalled allegedly regaining consciousness in Henson’s bed without any trousers, as stated in court records. Henson was unclothed and was reportedly “straddling” the victim.
Detectives received this information during a forensic interview conducted on January 3. After a span of eleven days, authorities conducted an interview with a second victim.
The second individual, also 13 years old at the time of the reported events, stated that Henson started to engage in inappropriate touching in August or September of 2024 during one of their numerous visits to Henson’s residence. The individual stated that Henson frequently made these inappropriate advances in the living room of the home and occasionally in his bedroom.
The individual alleged that Henson attempted to make inappropriate contact during these interactions.
Recent court documents reveal that more individuals are stepping forward, recounting similar experiences involving visits to Henson’s residence, where they reportedly permitted him to engage in inappropriate touching in return for alcohol or marijuana. The ages of all the victims ranged from 13 to 15 years old.
On February 4, law enforcement officials from the Frankfort Police Department carried out a search warrant at Henson’s home located on Rowe Street.
Authorities seized cannabis and “cannabis cigarettes,” as stated in court filings. Authorities discovered a journal in which Henson purportedly detailed an interaction with one of the victims.
In a preliminary discussion with investigators, Henson reportedly confessed to having physical contact with the minors and also kissing one of them. Henson informed detectives that he had made contact with the victims “to feel some sort of excitement.”
Henson has been taken into custody and is now at the Clinton County Jail, facing several preliminary charges.
Henson was present in Clinton Circuit Court for an initial hearing on Monday afternoon, according to online court records.
