Honk News (Monroe County, IN) – A 45-year-old man from Bedford has been taken into custody following what authorities from the Indiana State Police described as a “rapidly evolving” investigation into child molestation.
As reported by the Indiana State Police, David Ericksen was apprehended on Tuesday facing several charges:
- One charge of child molestation, classified as a Level 1 felony
- One charge of sexual battery, classified as a Level 6 felony
- One charge of neglecting a dependent, classified as a Level 6 felony
According to the announcement, two detectives and members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department attended a request to observe an interview with a child victim that took place on Monday.
Throughout the inquiry, detectives pinpointed the individual as Ericksen. Authorities confiscated several electronic devices and carried out a thorough search of the devices, as well as Ericksen’s vehicle and residence.

On Tuesday, the searches took place alongside Ericksen’s arrest, as stated in the release.
Court documents reveal that Ericksen’s pretrial conference is set for March 19, with the jury trial slated to commence on June 25. Ericksen has been taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
