Ingram, wielding a Glock pistol fitted with a 50-round drum magazine, unleashed gunfire on Smith, resulting in his death. Three dancers at the club, who were merely bystanders, also sustained injuries from the gunfire.

Ingram Jr. was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in Massillon on February 22, 2023.

The prosecutor’s office announced that Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein initiated legal action in 2023 to close the site of the shooting until the owners resolve safety concerns. The nightclub remained shut for about 10 months. The facility has now resumed operations, implementing security measures mandated by the local court.
