Honk News (Miami-Dade, FL) – A mother in Florida faces arrest following accusations of assaulting her daughter with a metal guitar, reportedly out of frustration over having to wait 10 minutes outside the school while the girl conversed with boys.
Sayda Orellana Castellanos, 52, faces serious charges of aggravated battery and child abuse resulting in significant bodily harm. A police officer arrived at a residence in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood around 5 p.m. Monday in response to a domestic violence situation, according to an arrest affidavit. Orellana Castellanos expressed to the officer her frustration after waiting over 10 minutes to pick up her daughter from school.
The mother subsequently discovered that the girl had been conversing with boys while she waited, according to the affidavit. According to reports, an argument broke out between her and her daughter while they were driving home. The daughter reported to the authorities that her “mother started to label her a whore.” Upon returning home, the victim entered her room. However, Orellana Castellanos reportedly forced his way in and “started to hurl verbal insults at her.” Subsequently, the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation.
Orellana Castellanos claimed that her daughter struck her in the face. The mother forcefully pulled her daughter by the hair, dragging her into the hallway and striking her face, which led to the girl falling, according to police reports. At that moment, Orellana Castellanos allegedly took a metal guitar from the wall and struck her daughter with it.
It is claimed that she struck her several times, resulting in significant injuries to her face and body. According to the affidavit, Orellana Castellanos began striking her with a broomstick, ultimately breaking it in two.
The victim’s sister captured the entire incident on video. Authorities examined the footage, which validated the victim’s statement. The individual endured multiple cuts and abrasions on either side of her face, along with a swollen eyelid and visible marks on her back.

“These injuries sustained by the daughter shows clear indications of permanent disfigurement,” the affidavit said.
Emergency responders attended to the girl’s injuries at the location. A mother was taken into custody by police and transported to the Miami-Dade County jail, where she has since secured her release by posting a $3,500 bond. A court hearing is set for her on March 5.
