Florida Father Placed Baby in Middle of Intersection and Drove Off; Arrested after Baby Bleed to Death after Accident

Honk News (Jacksonville, FL) – A man in Florida is accused of striking and fatally injuring his 8-month-old child with his vehicle after leaving the infant in the center of an intersection and driving away following a dispute with his girlfriend, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The driver continued on his way, but law enforcement swiftly located and apprehended him. Emergency responders quickly transported the baby to the medical facility, but the doctors declared the infant deceased upon arrival. Justin Golden, a 20-year-old, is currently facing serious charges including aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

On Saturday at approximately 11 a.m., an event took place at the intersection of Lenox and McDuff avenues. A witness described the scene as chaotic during an interview. Markin Barnes recounted that he was at his barbershop when he suddenly heard a woman screaming. He dashed outside and was confronted with a dreadful scene.

“The kid was bleeding,” he said. “So we immediately asked did she need help.”

It remains uncertain whether Golden accidentally struck the child or if it was intentional. The gender of the infant remains undisclosed. Footage reveals that the location is a frequently used path. Authorities are still looking into the matter.

Golden is currently held at the Duval County jail with no bond available. It remains uncertain whether he has secured legal representation.
