Honk News (Las Vegas, NV) – A Nevada man received a life sentence with the chance of parole for the tragic act of throwing his infant daughter from an apartment balcony, resulting in her death.
In October, Clarence Martin Jr., 37, was convicted of murder, child abuse, and animal cruelty related to the tragic death of his nearly two-month-old daughter, London, as reported by KLAS.
“I don’t say this lightly — this is the worst case I’ve ever seen,” District Judge Carli Kierny said during sentencing, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “It boggles my mind.”
Authorities reported that London fell over 22 feet to the ground beneath. During a heated dispute with Martin’s fiancée, it is claimed that she was pushed from the balcony — London’s mother.
Responding officers quickly found the infant and her mother, who was administering CPR on London. London was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where she unfortunately passed away due to her injuries.
Before departing the location, authorities claimed that Martin ignited a blaze that caused damage to the interior of their residence and resulted in the death of the family’s dog.

Law enforcement officials report that he was apprehended in the vicinity of Harry Reid International Airport. Clad in a TSA Security shirt, he managed to reach the tarmac.
Court records reveal that Martin has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, as reported by the Review-Journal.
The defense attorney for Martin informed the judge that he had “very little memory” of the event and “thought he was in a movie,” according to the Review-Journal.
“That’s how delusional he was at the time of this crime,” said the attorney, Betsy Allen.
