Honk News (Chicago, IL) – A man from Aurora has been convicted of child sexual abuse and the production of child pornography.
According to prosecutors, Ronald Lye encountered the 13-year-old victim through a social media application.
From April 1, 2020, to May 7, 2020, Lye repeatedly drove to the victim’s residence to collect them and subsequently took the teenager to his own home, where inappropriate contact occurred.
Prosecutors stated that Lye documented the sexual encounters.
A judge determined that Lye committed the following offenses:
Manufacturing Child Pornography, Class X felony (13 Counts)
Possessing Child Pornography, Class 2 felony (19 counts)
Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Class 2 felony (13 counts)
“The victim was only 13 years of age at the time of these crimes. Despite still being a child at the time of trial, the victim testified in an open courtroom with remarkable courage, describing the details of their abuse all while facing the person who stole their innocence,” said Kane County Assistant State’s Attorney Lori Schmidt.
