Man Arrested after He Slept with 13-year-old Teen Girl in Tennessee; Victim was in Contact with Him via Social Media: Authorities

Honk News (Nashville, TN) – Authorities from various law enforcement agencies collaborated to locate two girls who had gone missing from East Tennessee and were discovered in Middle Tennessee.

Court documents reveal that the girls were discovered on Sunday at the Nashville home of 21-year-old Isaac Schellsmidt, who has been arrested and charged with felony kidnapping.

Authorities in Hamilton County have announced that two minors, aged 12 and 13, were reported missing from a residence in the Soddy Daisy region on Sunday, January 19.

During the investigation, officials revealed that the girls had been in contact with a man from Nashville through social media. It seems the girls left the house early Sunday morning and met the individual in a nearby location.

Court documents reveal that Schellsmidt transported the minors to his home in Nashville, where he allegedly engaged in sexual activity with the 13-year-old.

After Hamilton County detectives pinpointed the individual and discovered possible locations of the minors, the sheriff’s office sought assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Officials reported that MNPD officers arrived at the scene and discovered the girls, who were safe and in the company of two men. Authorities apprehended the minors and subsequently returned them to their parents.

During an interview, Schellsmidt allegedly informed authorities that he knew the girls were underage when he collected them in Hamilton County, and that he was cognizant of the parents’ efforts to locate them while they were held in his home.

Schellsmidt is currently in custody at Metro Jail facing the following charges:

The amount for his bond has been established at $75,000.
