California Man Molested Young Girls; Had Recorded over 1000 Videos of Abuse and Molestation: Sentenced

Honk News (Chula Vista, CA) – A man from Chula Vista, who admitted to the crime of molesting young girls and having over 1,000 videos of child sexual abuse material, including footage of himself committing these acts, received a sentence of 25 years to life in state prison on Thursday.

Antonio Medina Jr., 33, faced initial charges related to over 1,000 illegal videos featuring children. However, further investigation revealed additional footage on a laptop that depicted Medina abusing nine girls aged between 4 and 9, as reported by the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities report that Medina captured the videos from 2011 to 2015, and a lengthy investigation lasting almost a year aided officials in San Diego and other regions of California and Texas in recognizing several victims and advancing legal action.

The D.A.’s Office issued a statement highlighting that certain victims have yet to be identified, and prosecutors conveyed their hope that these individuals pursue trauma and additional supportive services in light of the crimes they have endured.

Medina has entered a guilty plea on three felony charges related to lewd acts involving a child, along with one charge for possession of child pornography.

Summer Stephan, the District Attorney of San Diego County, stated, “Child molesters, who are often trusted people within families, harm children in the worst way, stealing their innocence and causing years of trauma and pain. They usually don’t stop until they are discovered and stopped by law enforcement. We want victims of child molestation and their families to know that coming forward and reporting allows justice to prevail and stops these predators from hurting any other child.”
