Honk News (Boston, MA) – A Massachusetts grand jury has charged a physician with sexually assaulting over 200 former patients spanning more than ten years.
Patients have taken legal action against Dr. Derrick Todd, who faces allegations of conducting unnecessary pelvic floor therapy, breast examinations, testicular examinations, and other inappropriate procedures on patients since 2010. On Thursday, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office announced that Todd was indicted for two counts of rape involving the sexual assault of two women.
Todd entered a not-guilty plea during his arraignment on Friday, where he was set with a bail amount of $10,000. A spokesperson for the district attorney’s office stated that he must avoid any contact with the victims, relinquish his passport, give up all medical licenses, refrain from practicing medicine, and not seek new passports or licenses.

The District Attorney’s Office has reported that the two alleged incidents occurred in December 2022 and June 2023, with further investigations into Todd’s actions currently underway.
William Thompson, an attorney from the Boston firm Lubin & Meyer, representing over 180 accusers, indicated that the criminal case involving Todd is expected to expand.
“It’s just the beginning of the criminal case against Dr. Todd, but it does help validate the civil claims that Lubin & Meyer is pursuing on behalf of so many of his former patients,” Thompson said. “Fundamentally, it’s about a doctor abusing his position. And taking advantage of patients who put their trust in him for his own personal sexual gratification.”
Thompson noted that the civil case involving Todd is presently undergoing the discovery phase. A message was left by the Associated Press for Anthony Abeln, an attorney representing Todd in the civil case, as well as for Ingrid Martin, a criminal lawyer who has also represented Todd.
