This week, a 24-year-old teacher, Mia Renee King, is under scrutiny in an ongoing drug investigation at Cheatham Middle School in Ashland City. The sheriff’s office received a tip regarding the potential presence of ketamine and cocaine at the school on Scoutview Road, as detailed in the incident report by School Resource Officer Gene McCollum.
“(The tip) states that she was using drugs during the day, that she would go out during her lunch break and use then come back and teach class,” Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Lt. Shannon Heflin said.
At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Monday, McCollum and a fellow officer arrived at the school to look into the tip received.
